JOB THAT WILL BE LOSE IN THE FUTURE

The industrial revolution 4.0 has changed the rhythm of technological development very rapidly, research on technology is on the rise. Now there have been several evolutions in technological development in various fields.

Like Elon Musk who developed the idea of an electric car, so that it does not require humans to drive it, in the industrial world, the evolution of technological development has developed, almost all production processes have now been carried out by robots. From the explanation above, is it true that development will replace jobs or professions in the future? Let's review.

Technological development has become a topic that is increasingly attracting attention in various fields of human life. The development of technology can replace human professions in several fields such as manufacture, agriculture, and transportation. During the industrial revolution 4.0, tens to hundreds of jobs began to be replaced by technology.

Some professions or jobs that are expected to disappear due to technological developments are

1. Driver

In this case, if self-driving technology is applied to public transportation such as taxis, in the future, cars will no longer be controlled by taxis, but robots or advanced technology.

2. Factory workers

Some companies or factories have started to combine automatic machines and human labor. This is because it is believed that the use of automatic machines can increase production.

3. Cashier

Although fairly simple, cashier work requires skilled human interaction. However, the job can also be done by advances in artificial intelligence. Especially if what is done is simple tasks that can be replaced by technology.

4. Postman

The number of postal workers is decreasing day by day, the main reason being the development of technology. Correspondence no longer has to be physical because through email one can get documents, data, responses without having to wait for the arrival of the postman. In terms of efficiency and effectiveness, this is very helpful for humans in terms of work or anything that requires documents or information quickly. Meanwhile, the postman cannot do this.

This is because the work is repetitive and memorizing, because technological developments such as robots, and artificial intelligence (AI) are easy to do this.

Technological developments can make it easier and even replace human work. But that doesn't mean the role of humans will disappear. As smart as technology is, it still needs critical thinking, analytical power, and creativity from humans to make it work optimally.

In conclusion, to be able to adapt to the changes brought by the industrial revolution 4.0, a worker must have abilities that cannot be done by machines and robots, therefore mastering soft skills such as critical thinking, analytical, leadership, and creativity, is very important so that we can be the ones who adopt and benefit from technological development.
